1. How do I get to Methven?
Buses run regularly from Christchurch city and airport as well as other main centres.
Mt Hutt Village is an easy 1 hour drive from Christchurch International Airport.
Follow the Main Highway south to Rakaia and turn right for Methven. OR
Follow the West Coast Road to Darfield and turn left along Scenic Route 72.
2. Where can I hire skis, bikes, snowboards, fishing gear/ licenses etc?
There are 3 ski / snowboard shops & Fly Shop for all your fishing needs.
3. How far is it from anywhere in NZ to Methven?

4. Where can I buy groceries?
There's 2 supermarkets conveniently located in the centre of town and open from 7am to 9 pm, 7 days a week.
5. I've never skied or snowboarded before. Are package deals available?

6. How easy is it to organise transport up to Mt Hutt?
Very easy! Rental cars are available or the buses / shuttles stop regularly every day during winter.
7. How far is Methven from Mt Hutt?
45 minutes to the Mt Hutt carpark by car.
8. Can I eat out in Methven?
Definitely. There is a large range of excellent cafes, restaurants and bars to suit all budgets and tastes.
